When your best friend comes over - first questions is always: What are we going to EAT? Here's where a delicious home ground burger comes to the rescue. My friend Audrey stopped by after school the other day for a play date. We got real hungry about 4:00 and decided we would make hamburgers. Audrey loves them almost as much as I do. So anyway, my Dad helped us set up the meat grinder and we made about 3 lbs of ground beef using a little bit of round beef and chuck. We also thought we'd help out my mom with dinner because Audrey and I were having such a good time in the kitchen. I set about making patties. So here you go: first step to a great burger is to make sure that all the burger patties are the same size, nobody wants a tiny burger when someone else has a great big burger.
Next, begin to heat up your skillet, I like to add a little oil so the meat doesn't stick. Then place the patties on the skillet, while those are cooking you and get your bun ready with ketchup, mustard, lettuce and pickles. I love pickles.then you see if your meat patties are ready,if they are cooked the way you like it ,tern the heat off. Were almost there ,now place the meat patties on the buns you have prepared. To help out my mom I set the table ,with the forks, knives and napkins. Those burgers were really good, so fun to make and very easy. Next time I will add, caramelized onions or season the hamburger for different outcomes. Use your imagination to make your burger the best possible and the way you like it.
